Speaking of Timberlake, I didn’t watch the Super Bowl in 2004, but I remember kids at school telling me about it later. If you don’t know the story already, I’m here to fill you in.

NBS allows you to see who is interacting with you on social media, even breaking down the information further to reveal how many men versus women are mentioning you or retweeting you on Twitter. Knowing who is not only a fan but who has taken the extra step to interact with you online is incredibly powerful information — potentially indicating who might be your next community of superfans, or superfans-in-the-making!

The first thing you’ll do is hop on the phone with your mentor so they can better understand what you’re hoping to accomplish and you can make sure you’re a good fit together. You can even do this right away, with no commitment to buy, by telling us about yourself so we can suggest a mentor. With the help of a few super clever musicians, I came up with some ideas to alleviate these latter issues. In this article, I would like to suggest alternative ways of thinking about singing, and how to take practical steps in kicking your insecurities to the curb. Let’s go.

The short tape loop in the RE-100 still meant that you could only affect the delay so much. The RE-201 remedied this by using a longer tape loop that was spooled freely within a chamber with no reels. This loose spool approach resulted in less tape wear and fewer transient noises.

The theremin is an instrument invented by Léon Theremin (Lev Sergeyevich Termen in Russian) in 1919. It has two metal antennae, and you play it not by touching it, but by moving your hands in the air between the antennae to control both the pitch and volume of the sound produced. Making templates is a helpful way to eliminate wasted time when you’re composing, recording, and mixing. Not only do you want to be ready to work when inspiration hits, but your workflow should continue to be effective as you finish your project or help your clients finish their projects.

My sister is a TV comedy writer, and she once told me all she wants to do when she gets home is watch CSI or some other dark, dramatic show — because all she does all day is write jokes! I’ve noticed a similar pattern (have you?). When I’m done with a long string of shows, all I want to do is listen to nothing. But I found a loophole for this: Listen to the stuff you listened to as a teenager or when you first started getting into music. For me that’s ’90s R&B and neo-soul. Give me Ms. Lauryn Hill or Destiny’s Child and I’m instantly transported to a happy place, where I can dance around like a dummy and not care about anything.

Did you know Boulder is home to not one, not two, but three classical music orchestras, and hosts America’s most well-known classical musical festival, the Colorado Music Festival? Even if you’re a more Rock than Philharmonic, Boulder still has a scene for you.

Picture the traditional scene of a “music creation team” in a studio — in attendance you may find the artist, the band, the manager, possibly the A&R rep of the label, the audio engineer, etc. Maybe you’ve hired a team of songwriters and curated a set of songs to record from their work. These roles are the traditional puzzle pieces required to produce good music.
